01
Who this is for
These Partner Terms cover businesses accepted into the DPS Partner Programme. They sit on top of our Terms of Service, which still apply to you in full. Where the two disagree about something partner-specific, this page wins.
A partner is a business that sells pre-owned goods and has been verified by us. If you are selling your own things as an individual, the general Terms are the ones you want.
02
Joining, and the bio check
You register with your business details, your Instagram handle and the bank account we will pay into. We issue you a Partner ID, something like DPSP-1088.
Before we read anything from your Instagram, you put that Partner ID somewhere on your public profile. Dina looks for it. Finding it is how we know the account is really yours. Until she finds it, nothing is imported and nothing is listed.
We may decline an application, and we do not have to explain why.
03
What you keep
You set your price on Instagram. We list it on DPS at that price plus 8%, rounded up to the nearest ₦100. The buyer pays the DPS price, and you receive 95% of it.
Worked through: an item you price at ₦100,000 on Instagram is listed at ₦108,000 on DPS, and ₦102,600 comes to you. Your original price is kept on the listing record so you can always check the arithmetic.
The 8% is ours to change, and we will tell you before we do. Your 95% is set on your partner record and does not change without you being told.
Listing is free. There is no monthly fee, no joining fee, and no charge for an item that does not sell.
04
Getting paid
Money sits in escrow with Paystack until the buyer collects the item and enters the PIN that confirms it. That release is what triggers your payout, so a handover that never happens is a payout that never happens.
We pay to the account on your partner record. It must be a 10 digit Nigerian account number, and the account name should match the business you registered. We cannot pay an account we cannot verify.
NEEDS A DECISION BEFORE THIS PAGE GOES LIVE
Payout timing after PIN confirmation, and whether DPS withholds tax on partner payouts. Neither is set anywhere in the system, so neither can be stated here honestly.
05
What Dina does, and does not do
Dina is our Instagram automation. Once you are verified she reads your public posts roughly once a day, looking at the most recent twelve and ignoring anything older than 48 hours.
She will
- Read your caption for what the item is, the price, and its condition.
- Copy your photos onto our own hosting, so your Instagram links are never exposed.
- Create up to five DPS listings a day from your posts.
- Notice when you edit a caption, and follow a price change through to the listing.
- Take a listing down when your caption says the item is sold or gone.
She will not
- Post anything, comment, like, follow, or message anybody.
- Read a private account. If you go private, she stops.
- Touch an item that is already paid for, sold, or awaiting pickup.
You can turn Dina off at any time and keep listing by hand instead.
06
Write captions she can read
Dina takes the item name from your caption. If the caption never says what the thing actually is, you get a listing called something like "Size XL item", and fixing it is your job, not ours.
Name the thing. Put the size, the colour and the condition in as well, and a price she can find. A post selling several different items at once, or one that says DM for price, will be skipped.
The five a day cap is per partner. Posts over the cap are not thrown away, they wait for the next run, but a very heavy posting day can still outrun the window she looks back through.
07
We check things before they go live
Items you push yourself from your partner page arrive with us as pending, and a person looks at them before they reach buyers. You will see them in your portal under "Waiting on us".
We can decline a listing, edit an obviously wrong price, or take something down. We would rather tell you why and let you fix it, and that is what we will normally do.
08
Availability checks
Buyers can pay ₦250 to ask whether a specific item is still available. When one does, you get an email with a yes and a no button.
You have 30 minutes. Answer yes and the buyer is told it is confirmed. Answer no and we take the listing down and refund their check.
If you say nothing, we tell the buyer the item is still listed, which is not the same as confirmed, and we say so plainly. That leaves a buyer crossing Lagos on your silence, which is the thing this whole mechanism exists to prevent.
Ignoring these repeatedly is grounds for removal from the programme.
NEEDS A DECISION BEFORE THIS PAGE GOES LIVE
How many missed checks before removal. The system counts them and flags at five, but it does not act, so right now this is a decision a person makes rather than a rule.
09
Your partner page
You sign in at declutterpawnshop.com/partners-admin with the email on your partner record and your full 10 digit account number. Use an address you actually open.
Once a week we send you a digest with a link that signs you straight in, so most of the time you will not type anything. That link is a login and it lasts 30 days. Anyone you forward the email to can open your portal, so treat it the way you would treat a password.
From the portal you can fix a name or a price, confirm an item is still available, push a post Dina could not read, take anything down, and see what has sold.
10
Your handle stays off your listings
Buyers see the item and they see DPS. We do not publish your Instagram handle on your item pages.
This is deliberate and it is in your interest. A buyer who can find the post can buy it from you directly and leave us out, which is fine for that one sale and ends the arrangement that brought them to you in the first place.
11
No exclusivity
Nothing here stops you selling anywhere else. Your Instagram is yours. Your WhatsApp still works, your DMs still work, your walk-in customers still walk in.
We only take a cut on a buyer we brought you. Everything else you keep in full.
If you sell something elsewhere, mark it sold on Instagram or take it down in your portal. Dina will usually notice, but she reads once a day and a buyer can pay in the meantime.
12
What we ask of you
- List things you actually have, and keep your listings honest about condition and faults.
- Answer availability checks.
- Hand over the item when a buyer has paid, and take the PIN.
- Keep your bank details current.
- Nothing illegal, counterfeit, stolen, or on the prohibited list in the general Terms.
13
Suspension, and leaving
We can suspend or remove a partner who lists things they do not have, misrepresents condition, repeatedly ignores availability checks, takes payment and does not hand over, or uses the programme to reach buyers and then route them off DPS.
You can leave whenever you like. Tell us and we will take you off.
NEEDS A DECISION BEFORE THIS PAGE GOES LIVE
What happens on the way out: notice either way, how long live listings stay up, and how a sale that is already paid for but not yet collected is finished off.
14
Your data
We hold your business details, your Instagram handle, your bank details and the listings Dina creates. Bank details are used to pay you and for nothing else.
Our Privacy Policy covers the rest.
15
Changes to these terms
We may update these Partner Terms. When we do, the effective date at the top of this page changes, and anything material is sent to you by email.
Carrying on as a partner after a change means you accept it. If you do not, you can leave.
16
Governing law
These Partner Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising under or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.
